The Department of Sports of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" awarded the best student-athletes of Alma Mater for 2023. The ceremony was held in the Central Foyer of the Rectorate in the presence of representatives of the Rectoral leadership, Deans, teachers, students and guests.

Among the awardees this year are two students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA):

Angelina Arnaudova (FEBA) - Table tennis, with coach Assist. Prof. Venelina Tsvetkova. 1st place women's team and 3rd place women's pairs - Universiade Stara Zagora'23; 1st place women's team and 3rd place women's doubles - Summer University Games Kranevo'2023. The award was presented to her by the Dean of FEBA Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev. Venelina also received a special award from the Sport Stars sports club.

Emma Kurova (FEBA), Basketball, with coach Prof. Iren Peltekova. 1st place basketball 3x3 (Mixed teams), NUC; 3rd place basketball - Student Championship for 2023. The award was presented by Prof. Krasimir Petkov from the National Sports Academy.

The presenters of the event, Assoc. Prof. Bilyana Rangelova and Assist. Prof. Teodor Georgiev introduced the official guests: Vladimir Hristov from the Municipality of Sofia, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, Dean of the Faculty of Sports of the National Sports Academy, Mihail Mikov, Reineta Peycheva, Prof. Vili Lilkov, Nikolay Krastev, Stanislav Guberov - members of the sports club of the university, Anton Bonov - representative of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation, Nikolay Petkov - vice-president of the Bulgarian Climbing and Alpinism Federation, Andrey Lilov and Nikolay Kolev from the Bulgarian Cricket Federation.

The director of the Department of Sports, Prof. Boryana Tumanova, congratulated the guests and noted that this day is special and significant because a well-deserved tribute is paid to the students and their sporting successes and impressive results. "Your authoritative rankings, along with your hard study process, are proof of a successful level, a powerful incentive for the Bulgarian youth, who recognize in you their idols and role models", said Prof. Tumanova and expressed her impression of their determination and personal dedication in the name of the sport and the prestige of the university.
