The students of the Master's program "Energy Markets and Services" at Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" visited the Kozloduy NPP and facilities of the State Enterprise "Radioactive Waste" (SERAW - Kozloduy) on June 2, 2023. The teaching team included Dr. Eng. Ivaylo Naydenov, lecturer in "Energy Resources and technologies".

The students saw the full-scale simulator for VVER-1000 reactors, the engine room of units 1-4 and other facilities and visited the information centers of Kozloduy NPP and SERAW. As a result of the visit, a number of interesting questions related to the work of the two companies arose for the future masters.

The full-scale reactor unit simulator VVER-1000 offers a unique opportunity to train and simulate scenarios in a controlled environment. Students had the opportunity to touch the devices and feel the learning process with the simulator.

During the organized visit, the students also saw decommissioning processes in units 1-4 of Kozloduy NPP, managed by SERAW.

Industrial visits are a trademark of the Master's program "Energy Markets and Services" and enable students to understand the dynamics and challenges in the energy sector and nuclear power in particular. The management of FEBA thanked the management of Kozloduy NPP EAD and SERAW for the long-term partnership. After visiting Kozloduy NPP, the students also visited Radetsky ship.
