History

The history of the department goes back to 1980s when it was part of the Free Faculty of St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia as the Department of Management and Organization.

In 1991 it was transformed into the Department of Business Administration within the reestablished Faculty of Economics and BA.

Teaching and research

The Department carries out teaching and research in the following fields:

General Management

  • Management of Business, Public and Non-profit Organizations
  • Strategic Management
  • Business Planning and Control
  • Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Management and Development of Human Resources
  • Marketing
  • Learning Organization
  • Project Management
  • National and Organizational cultures

The Department of Business Administration has a leading role in the organization of the following Masters programmes:

Both programmes provide excellent opportunities for studying and professional career development and receive very high ranking from the students.

The Department of Business Administration is accredited by the Bulgarian State Accreditation Commission to teach doctoral students.

Research projects. The Business Administration Department participates in various projects in the following priority areas:

  • National and Organizational cultures
  • Marketing of Utility Companies
  • Infrastructure and Superstructure in Tourism
  • Common European Energy Policy
