On November 7th, the first modules of the academic year for the part-time 2-semester master's program “Facility Management” at the Department of “Economics and Industry Management” of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” were officially started. In the first one-week module, classes are held in the compulsory and optional special disciplines.
The students were welcomed by the head of the department and dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, and by professors and partners of the program. Ivan Velkov, chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Facility Management Association (BGFMA), Iglika Yordanova, managing partner at Colliers, and Prof. Dr. Eng. Yordan Botev, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration joined the masters and greeted them with the start of the academic year.
The first module included lectures by Ivan Velkov (BGFMA), Hristin Atanasov (Senior Facilities Manager, Experian), Eng. Sasho Ezekiev, Bisera Ivanova (Director of Facility Management and Health and Safety at Festo Production Ltd.), Ch. Emil Mitov, Ph.D. (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration), Yordan Botev, Ph.D., and Yordan Botev, Ph.D. Dr. Petar Tashev (program coordinator, Department of Economics and Management by Sectors, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration).
The master's program is designed for working professionals and is part-time, as the training in the special disciplines is organized in 3 modules of 5 days each in the winter semester and 2 modules of 5 days each in the summer semester. For graduates of non-economic majors, additional lectures and exams in general economic disciplines are provided during the winter and summer semesters. After semester completion, students must defend their master's theses in November 2023.
