The American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham) is an organization of American, international, and local businesses and the voice of the Transatlantic economy in Bulgaria. We represent more than 300 leading companies, with the mission to improve the business environment, investment climate, and living standards in the country by advocating to all stakeholders – government, business, NGOs, and media – for productive dialogue and partnership. Additionally, we support Bulgarian companies entering the U.S. Market and are dedicated to strengthening Transatlantic ties through our US office.

We are looking for a proactive and energetic intern who is eager to learn about our community by assisting in various activities. As an AmCham intern, you will get the full experience – supporting our flagship events, being part of the organization of roundtables and meetings, engaging with our members and network, and working in a dynamic team. You will have the opportunity to broaden your network, stay attuned to key business trends, and meet and learn from leaders in the Bulgarian economic environment.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide general administrative support to the AmCham team
  • Assist with event organization and be part of the team networking and hosting on event days
  • Assist with the general communication – external and internal – screen the mail account, provide information on a basic level and with regard to specific projects
  • Take part in outreach meetings and preparation within and outside our community – businesses, institutions, and other organizations
  • Research topical subjects relevant to AmCham’s activities
  • Track documentation flows, including financial and inventory
  • Assist the AmCham team with other activities as requested
Requirements/ Qualifications:
  • High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree will be an advantage
  • Additional qualification in Office Administration is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Good team player
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office Suite (particularly MS Word and MS Excel)
  • Language: Fluent written and spoken Bulgarian and English
