Assoc. Prof. Marieta Hristova Rabohchiyska, PhD

Marieta Rabohchiyska was born in Sofia on 18 October 1976. In 1995 she completed her secondary education at the First English Language School in Sofia and her higher education at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, the Faculty of Law where she graduated in 2000.

In 2001 she became assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University and in 2011 – chief assistant professor. From 2006 to 2009 she was an extramural PhD student at the same Faculty. She holds a PhD degree in International Law and International Relations as of 2009.

Marieta Rabohchiyska received further professional training in: external relations of the European Union at the College of Europe, Brugge, Belgium (2012); EU Law at the European University Institute, Florence, Italy (2009); foreign policy and external relations of the European Union at T.M.C. Asser Institute for International and European Law, the Hague, the Netherlands (2009, 2002); external relations of the EU at the University of Genoa, Italy (2007); public international law at the Hague Academy of International Law, the Netherlands (2003). In 2011 she was academic adviser to the team of students from Sofia University that participated in the National Model United Nation held in New York the same year.

Member of the Consultative Council on International Law at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007 – 2010), of the Bulgarian Association of International Law (since 2004), of the Bulgarian European Community Studies Association (BECSA) (since 2006).

Fields of academic interest and research: international relations, European political cooperation and integration, external relations of the European Union, international protection of human rights.
