The Department of History of Bulgaria is one of the basic departments of the Faculty of History. The most prominent Bulgarian historians of the 20th c. have lectured in it. The subjects taught cover the whole period of Bulgarian history - from the Early Middle Ages to the present day. The courses and research include political, economic, cultural and demographic history of Bulgaria. Students specializing in the Department have regular terrain practice and research conferences.
