The curriculum includes Modules providing fundamental and specialized knowledge and skills through Elective and Optional courses, as well as Assessed practice elements.

  • Courses which provide fundamental knowledge and skills are as follows: Introduction to Social Work, History of Social Work, Social Policy, Methods of Social Work, Empirical Research in Social Work, Organization and Management of Social Work, Professional Norms and Values in Social Work, Evaluation in Social Work, Communicative and Behavioural Strategies, Information and Communication Technology in Social Work.
  • Modules providing specialized knowledge and skills include: Methods of Social Work, a range of disciplines within Psychology, Education, Social Economics, Medicine, Law, Social Work with Children, Social Work in the Labour Market, Clinical Social Work.

Apart from the disciplines included in the above Modules, students are offered other choices too.

  • Practical training is provided through such assessed elements as Pedagogical Internship , Internship in Clinical Psychology, Summer Practice, Internship in Methods of Social Work, Internship in Social Medicine, Internship in Administration, Pre-graduation Practice and others.

During their course of study students submit 3 course papers. Graduation follows upon taking a Written State Examination or defending a Final-Year Dissertation.

Students with an average grade of Very Good (4.50 and above) can continue their study in the MA programmes.
