An online meeting of the Advisory Board of the capacity building project SCHOLARNET was conducted on March 22nd. The official meeting was attended by Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov, Rector of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Prof. Jan Borm, representative of Université Paris-Saclay, UVSQ, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration - Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, who is also the SCHOLARNET project manager.

Partners in the project for building scientific capacity through knowledge transfer, exchange of good practices, related academic research and participation in scientific networks SCHOLARET are three leading European universities from Bulgaria, Germany and France: Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen and Nuremberg and the Université Paris-Saclay, UVSQ.

The results from the implemented project activities for the past six months were reported during the strategic meeting. A profound analysis of the scientific forums within the project that were conducted in this period was followed by a presentation made by Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev about the three specially formed working groups:

  • for analyzing the publishing activity of lecturers and PhD students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration;
  • for analyzing the participations in projects of lecturers and PhD students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, and
  • for analyzing the PhD researches, the topics developed, and the overall training process. The working groups will present their analyzes to the colleagues from the two partner European universities aiming to seek synergies, improvement, and sustainability of the results.

“Our priority is to raise the visibility of the scientific work of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and one of the key indicators is applying for an EU funded project after the completion of the Scholarnet project”, emphasized Assoc. Prof. Georgiev.

The Rector of the Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski confirmed the commitment of the institution that he leads to support the implementation of the project and underlined the importance of the scientific program of the Ministry of Education and Science “European Scientific Networks” for developing the capacity of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

The next meeting of the Advisory Board is scheduled for the second half of 2021.
