On December 13, 2024, a certification course was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), organized by the Center for Educational Services at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and “Utilities” magazine, in partnership with the Association for Production, Storage, and Trading of Electricity (APSTE). The theme of the training was “Managing Investments in Energy Storage Systems”.

The event marked the second edition on this topic, following significant interest from businesses during the first edition, where more than 50 participants were registered.

More than 40 participants enrolled in this second edition of the certification course. They had the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge, connect, and interact in an informal environment, creating new opportunities for partnerships within their respective business sectors.

Lecturers for the initiative included: Mariyana Yaneva, Vice-Chair of APSTE; Rositsa Chopeva, Partner at xFigure Finance; Stefana Tsekova, Attorney at Schoenherr; Krasimir Zhivachki, National Electric Company (NEK) EAD; Filip Rangelov, Technical Director at International Power Supply (IPS); Dimitar Dimitrov, REIB; Alexander Zahariev, Sunotec; and Dimitar Tsekov, Renergy.

The event was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and publisher of Utilities magazine, as well as Nikola Gazdov, Chair of APSTE.

All participants successfully completed the course and received certificates presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev.

Following the event, participants visited a demonstration energy storage system in Sofia – an industrial site featuring a demo system at the IPS office. There, they were introduced to the specifics of managing investments in energy storage and had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in productive discussions beneficial for both the participants and the training lecturers.
