On September 1, 2 and 3, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” hosted the online Fourth Summer School “Energy Management” - a joint certification course of Utilities magazine and the Center for Educational Services at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Some of the visitors to the school will enroll in the new graduating class of the master's program "Energy Markets and Services" in 2021/2022.
This year's summer school was held with the support of AES Bulgaria and the Bulgarian office of Total Energies (Total Exploration & Production Bulgaria).

Participants in this, as well as previous editions of the summer school, were students, PhD students, young experts, managers, and employees in the field of services of general interest, financial organizations, IT companies, representatives of government institutions and others.

Traditionally, this year as well, students and doctoral students from specialized programs related to the energy and utilities industry were invited to participate free of charge.

The training was attended by over 35 participants - representatives of energy companies, industrial enterprises, energy service providers, PhD students and students.

The following people took part in the training program with lectures:

  • Ventsislav Topuzov, Managing Partner and Chief Consultant at ROITI;
  • Dimitar Stanev, Deputy Director for Business Development, Albena AD;

  • Yves Liu Stanf, General Manager, Total E&P Bulgaria; Ivaylo Naidenov, Executive Director, BFIEK;
  • Malinka Nikolova, Chairman of the Board, Bulgarian Solar Association;
  • Martin Vladimirov, Director of the Energy and Climate Program, Center for the Study of Democracy;
  • Miroslav Rizov, Relay Protection and Automation Engineer at Schneider Electric;
  • Plamen Dilkov, Energy Expert; Plamen Panchev, Executive Director, Thrace Economic Zone;
  • Sofia Kasidova, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (2005-2010) and Head of Strategic Analysis and Development, BDB;
  • Toma Tomov, Chief Operating Officer, Bulgarian Energy Trading Platform.

The aim of the summer school is to provide participants in the energy sector with quality postgraduate training, through up-to-date information on the basics, practice and developments in the context of current challenges for management in the energy sector.
