The series of public lectures at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), dedicated to entrepreneurship and leadership in the energy sector, continues with an engaging meeting with a Bulgarian expert from the non-governmental sector. The speaker brings extensive experience in shaping European energy policies and in the practical development of citizen-led renewable energy initiatives.
On 18 February 2026 (Wednesday) at 4:00 PM, a public lecture entitled “Leadership in Energy Transformation and Renewable Energy Communities” will take place in Room 315 at FEBA. The guest lecturer will be Anelia Stefanova, strategic area leader for energy transformation at CEE Bankwatch Network – a leading European network of civil society organisations working to ensure the sustainable, just and democratic use of public funds and EU policies. In her professional work, Anelia Stefanova combines strategic leadership, in-depth analysis of energy policy, public finance and climate objectives, and the promotion of active citizen participation at the European level.
At the same time, she puts the principles of a just energy transition into practice by leading a renewable energy community in Sabina, Italy, with a strong social focus on supporting energy-poor households.
During the lecture, Anelia Stefanova will share her experience of transitioning from strategic work on energy policies to their practical implementation and will discuss how community-level solutions contribute to the development of more relevant and implementable policies at the European level.
Anelia Stefanova holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE).
The event is suitable for everyone interested in sustainable development, energy, and new models of leadership. Participation in the public lecture is free of charge and open to current and former students, as well as to anyone with an interest in the topic.
