On 2 December 2025 at 5:30 p.m., in Room 420 at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, more than 40 students with excellent academic performance from the “Economics and Finance” programme (English- and French-taught tracks) during the 2024/2025 academic year were honoured with certificates and books.

The students were congratulated by Prof. Sonya Mileva, DSc, Vice-Rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, and Ms Akseniya Boneva, National Correspondent for La Francophonie at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In their addresses, they highlighted the outstanding academic achievements of the awarded students and expressed satisfaction with the steady increase in their number each academic year.

On behalf of the Department of Economics, the students were also congratulated by Assoc. Prof. Dimitar Zlatinov, PhD, Vice-Dean of FEBA and Head of the Department of Economics, as well as by faculty lecturers. Assoc. Prof. Zlatinov emphasised the key role of the student community in the development and strengthening of the academic environment, underlining its contribution not only to high educational outcomes but also to scientific achievements, particularly through the growing involvement of FEBA students in research projects.

During the 2024/2025 academic year, two students from the “Economics and Finance” programme (English-taught track) graduated with a perfect grade point average: Elena Dobreva and Evgeni Kirilov.

In addition, during the same academic year, Daniel Bonev, Ladelaida Lagadova and Radina Angelova, students from the English-taught “Economics and Finance” programme, took part in the Fifth International Student and Doctoral Conference “The Transition to a Green Economy and Sustainable Development – Challenges, Problems and Solutions”. The three students presented a joint research paper entitled “Green Economic Transition and Sustainable Development: Between Challenges, Problem Areas and Opportunities for Transformation. A Focus on Bulgaria”. Their paper is included in the official 2025 conference proceedings, which are publicly available on the conference website.
