The UN Global Sustainable Goals (2015-2030) set out the ambitious target to lead on the sustainable governance of the planet including the economic, social and environmental targets in a more balanced way whilst directing societies toward a sustainable and just future.
The academic community plays a significant role in achieving the Goals. It participates actively in defining smart and achievable goals based on scientific research during the consultation phase that led to the Sustainable Plan 2030. The contribution of the scientists is key in developing sustainable solutions and establishing and testing relevant instruments that would assist in responding to the challenges of the new goals.
