The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev and the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Bulgarian Investor Relation Directors Daniela Peeva signed an agreement for cooperation between the University and the Association. The purpose of the agreement is for the two institutions to cooperate in training highly qualified specialists in the field of economics, management, finance, accounting and auditing, analysis and modeling of big data in business by increasing their theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills.
The agreement covers, but is not limited to, the following joint activities:
- Creation of joint curricula in the disciplines taught in the bachelor's and master's programs of the Faculty of Economics, related to the sustainable development of business and corporate social responsibility;
- Practical positioning during the training in the field of responsible and sustainable finance, practices and career guidance, and motivating students from the Faculty of Economics;
- Conducting joint specialized trainings, round tables, conferences and other events according to the needs of the practice, including the postgraduate qualification of the University.
The two sides agreed that the partnership and joint initiatives should be promoted with a view to raising professional development standards in the field of sustainable corporate governance.
"We will partner in organizing seminars, conferences, public events in order to promote among students the activities of public companies in the field of corporate transparency. Only in this way in the future we can expect that young managers will maintain high standards in disclosing information in Bulgarian companies", said Daniela Peeva, Chairman of the Board of the Association.
"As one of the largest and most important educational institutions in the country, it is of paramount importance for us to provide students not only with excellent theoretical training, but also to create opportunities for practical training and internships in some of the leading Bulgarian companies,that are members of the Association of Bulgarian Investor Relation Directors", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
