In July 2021, the sixth edition of the issue "Energy and Climate Diplomacy" and the fifteenth in the series "Foreign Policy Studies" of the Diplomatic Institute were published. This year's publication focuses on three areas on the topic - strategic issues, regulations and legislation, as well as investments and alternative renewable energy sources, including geothermal energy and bio-waste processing. Traditionally, the publication also includes authors from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ”.

Within the strategic direction, a central place is occupied by a publication related to the Three Seas Initiative and the presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria at the forum in the period 08-09 July 2021. The article focuses on the historical development of the initiative and the opportunities it provides for good energy, transport and digital connectivity. The other two publications cover the role of energy security in NATO's work, as well as EU-Ukraine energy relations. Their authors are Ch. Assistant Professor Milen Kisov from the Military Academy "Georgi Rakovski" and Mr. Alexei Margoevski, a reporter at the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) and a doctoral student at the University of National and World Economy.

The second direction includes topics related to the regulatory changes in the EU energy policy in the context of the European Green Deal and their impact on the structure of the Bulgarian energy sector. Authors in this field are: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Ms. Sofia Savova, expert in the Agency for Regional Economic Development Stara Zagora, Ms. Lyubomira Gancheva, Energy Advisor in the Administration of the President of Republic of Bulgaria and PhD student at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Ms. Ilina Stefanova, Coordinator of Energy Efficiency Projects at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Ms. Victoria Dimitrova (student in the Master's program "Energy Markets and Services" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration) and Mr. Pavlin Stoyanov, legal consultants in the energy sector.

The third area covers topics related to the role and place of bio waste and geothermal energy in the zero-carbon economy, as the authors of the articles are entrepreneurs in the energy sector - Mr. Tsvetozar Zahariev and Mr. Georgi Kortov.
