On December 5, 2024, at 5:00 PM, in Hall 420 of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" 35 students with excellent academic performance from the “Economics and Finance” program (both English and French program) for the 2023/2024 academic year were awarded certificates and books.
The students were congratulated by Prof. DSc. Sonia Mileva, Vice-Rector of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, and Mr. Petar Toparev, Head of the National Office of the University Agency for Francophonie in Bulgaria. In their speeches, they highlighted the academic achievements of the honored students and expressed their satisfaction with the increasing number of outstanding students each academic year.
On behalf of the Department of Economics, the students were addressed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Zlatinov, Vice-Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Department of Economics, Prof. Dr. Stefan Petranov, Head of the Department of Economics from 2012 to 2020, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sonia Georgieva, Head of the French program in Economics and Management at the Faculty. Assoc. Prof. Zlatinov emphasized the vital importance of working with students from the “Economics and Finance” (English and French programs) for all academic successes of the Faculty and the Department of Economics. He also noted that in 2024, the Department was awarded Sofia University’s "Quality Label Mark" in the "Sustainable Development" category for its over 120 years of active contributions.
Additionally, all students received "vitamins for the soul" from the academic staff of the Department of Economics.
