Dear Students,

Applications for participation in the Master’s thesis defense and state examinations for Master’s degree programmes will be accepted online as follows:

State Examination Session – July 2026

• Master’s Thesis Defense: from June 15 to June 24, 2026
• State Examination: from July 7 to July 10, 2026

State Examination Session – September 2026

• State Examination and Master’s Thesis Defense: from August 31 to September 4, 2026

State Examination Session – October 2026

• State Examination and Master’s Thesis Defense: from October 7 to October 9, 2026

Required Documents

• Allowance to Defend Master's Thesis

The application must be signed either by hand or with an electronic signature and sent to the above email addresses depending on the student’s programme.

Upon submission of the application, you will receive a confirmation reply within 2 working days. If you do not receive a response within the specified period, please contact the respective administrative officers at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

According to Order RD 19-337/19.07.2019 (item 6.3), each student is required to attach a printed screenshot confirming successful registration on the website: alumni.uni-sofia.bg

IMPORTANT

1. Only students who have successfully passed all semester examinations and have obtained the required number of credits according to the curriculum are eligible to defend a Master’s thesis or sit for the state examination.
2. Students are required to submit two passport-size photographs to the administrative officers responsible for the Master’s degree programmes in Room 130 of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration building, or send them by post or courier to the following address: Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Block 3, 125 Tsarigradsko Shose Blvd.Sofia 1113, Bulgaria
3. The photographs must be labeled on the back with the student’s full name and faculty number.
4. On the day of the Master’s thesis defense or state examination, students must bring their student record books. Students without their student record books will not be admitted to the examination or defense room.
