On 14 May 2026, a seminar featuring Assoc. Prof. Leo Delpy from the University of Lille, France, was held in Room 420 of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The event was part of the activities under the project “Adapting the labour market to socio-economic dynamics, technological modernisation, demographic change, and educational restructuring in the context of euro area membership”, funded by the National Science Fund at the Ministry of Education and Science.
During the seminar, Assoc. Prof. Ralitsa Simeonova-Ganeva outlined the key socio-economic factors affecting employment, income, and labour supply and demand in Bulgaria, placing particular emphasis on technological modernisation, demographic change, educational restructuring, and the need for better alignment between workforce skills and the needs of the economy. The presented research directions served as a basis for discussion with Assoc. Prof. Leo Delpy from the University of Lille, whose research interests include social protection, public policy, poverty, climate change, social networks, and socio-economic studies.
The participants discussed opportunities to expand the project’s research activities by including other EU Member States, as well as by applying comparative and interdisciplinary approaches in analysing socio-economic transformations and their impact on the labour market.
The seminar contributed to strengthening academic exchange and enriching the project’s research perspective through the inclusion of external expertise and international scientific experience.
