This well-established event welcomed more than 300 heads of state and government, as well as leaders from the public and private sectors. As a renowned forum in Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and the Middle East, it provides an opportunity for distinguished leaders and thinkers to discuss ways to overcome some of the world’s most pressing challenges. These include "Geopolitical Shifts: Responsible Partnerships versus Rivalry", "Reimagining Multilateralism for a Multipolar World" and "The UN Pact for the Future: Building a New Global Consensus".
The SDSN Black Sea Leadership Council, which held its meeting as part of the Global Forum, along with the World Academy of Art and Science, met with representatives from more than 20 universities in Azerbaijan. They discussed the role of universities in promoting peace and security across the extended Black Sea region, from the Caucasus to the Balkans.
