On 13 November 2020, Zornitsa Yanakieva gave a guest lecture at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. She discussed her experiences and observations on how to succeed in a dynamic and high-tech industry, what it takes to develop and implement successful marketing strategies on the local market as well as to expand to Europe, Africa and South East Asia out of the company’s base in Bulgaria.

Zornitsa Yanakieva is a successful professional with focus on business operations in financial and fintech industry. She has experience in start-up as well as corporate environment, both in Bulgaria and abroad. In the beginning of her career, she gained experience in companies like Raiffeisen Bank, PwC and KPMG. Zornitsa joined the fintech company Cash Credit during its start-up mode and has occupied different positions throughout the years – finance, operations and executive director, now being the CEO of the company. Mentor of the Visa Innovation Programme.

Zornitsa has graduated FEBA, Sofia University, bachelor Business Administration and MSc. Finance and Banking and also Master of HR management and development. At present she is studying Global Executive MBA at INSEAD.

Cash Credit is a leading Bulgarian tech-based non-banking financial institution. The company has started through innovative telco partnership model initially in Bulgaria, further expanded to strategic partnerships with MTN Group in Africa and Voyager Innovation, the digital financial and commerce arm of Smart Communications, in the Philippines.

The guest lecture was part of the Strategic Marketing course taught by Assist. Prof. Irena Mladenova at Master Program Strategic Management.
