Giorgi Mukhigulishvili, researcher from Ilia State University, held lectures for the students in the MA program “Energy Markets and Services” at Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA), Sofia University. He presented the topic “Energy Security: Concept and Cases” as part of an Erasmus+ mobility agreement, concluded this year between FEBA and Ilia State University.

Giorgi Mukhigulishvili is an experienced researcher with more than 12 years of working experience in the fields of energy, climate change, and sustainability studies. His research area focuses on energy security policy and strategy analysis, climate change impact on the energy sector and its contribution to national GHG emissions, analysis of mitigation and adaptation measures, and analysis of Georgian and EU energy legislation. Giorgi currently is working on his PhD research on Energy Security in the Context of National Security. Giorgi earned his first master’s degree in Еnergy Еconomics from the International School of Economics at TSU (ISET) in 2011. Giorgi earned his second master’s degree in International Relations from Ilia University in 2012, where he mainly concentrated on Energy Security and EU energy policy issues.

The visit at FEBA/SU was hosted by the director of the MA Program “Energy Markets and Services” and Dean at FEBA – Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, and by the coordinator of the program Chief Assist. Prof. Mariya Trifonova.

During his stay, Giorgi Mukhigulishvili visited the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute together with Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev and held a meeting with the director of BDI – Ms. Tanya Mihaylova, and the coordinator for energy and climate security publications and trainings Mr. Dimitar Ivanov.
