On June 12, 2026, the House of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Unions (FSTU) hosted the official award ceremony for the winners of the National Competition “Young Economist – 2026: The Voice of Youth for a Strong Economy”. This year’s edition of the competition focused on the topic “Bulgaria in the Eurozone: Opportunities, Expected Effects, and Challenges”.
Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) received well-deserved recognition for their outstanding achievements. Natalia Stefanova and Adelina Slavova from the Master's Programme in Economics and Finance were awarded first place in the “Students” category, receiving certificates and cash prizes of €200 each. Sonya Sotirova from the Master's Programme in Customs and Tax Control was honored with the Special Award of the Union of Economists in Bulgaria and a cash prize of €300.
On behalf of FEBA, Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Stoyan Shalamanov, Scientific Secretary of the Department of Economics, congratulated the award recipients during the ceremony.

- Georgi Totev and Teodora Acheva, Economics and Finance (English-taught Programme), 3rd year
The National Competition “Young Economist” is organized annually by the Union of Economists in Bulgaria. It provides an opportunity for young people interested in economics and economic development to present their ideas and research. This year’s competition brought together high school students, university students, PhD candidates, as well as young professionals and entrepreneurs up to 39 years of age.
