The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” has officially joined the Industry-Academia Network of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy, a key European initiative focused on advancing cybersecurity skills and strengthening the link between education and industry.

The Network, hosted on the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform, brings together leading universities and industry partners with the aim of fostering sustainable partnerships and developing practice-oriented educational solutions.

Through its participation in the Network, FEBA will actively contribute to several strategic areas:

  • Updating existing cybersecurity curricula
  • Integrating industry-recognised certifications into academic programmes
  • Establishing partnerships to access specialised training environments
  • Developing training and educational programmes
  • Building mentorship initiatives for students and underrepresented groups
  • Organising career events and forums

These activities are directly aligned with the growing need for practical skills and the preparation of professionals capable of responding to the dynamic demands of cybersecurity and the digital economy.

FEBA’s participation also reflects its broader commitment to key areas such as financial fraud prevention, online security, and risk management. These domains are becoming increasingly important in the context of the digitalisation of financial services and the rapid development of the fintech sector.

The Faculty’s involvement in this European initiative positions Bulgaria as an active contributor to building cybersecurity capacity and supports the strengthening of collaboration between academic institutions and industry.
