On March 20, 2026, the spring edition of the ESG Academy will open. The Academy is an approved certification program for specialists in sustainable management, implemented by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in partnership with the Association of Sustainability Specialists (SSA). The training will run from March 20 to June 5, 2026 and will mark the tenth edition of the Academy.
The program aims to build in-depth knowledge and practical skills in ESG management, identification and management of non-financial and ESG risks, sustainable finance, and climate change adaptation. The training is strongly practice-oriented and aligned with current European policies, regulatory requirements, and the needs of both the business and public sectors.
A new highlight of the 2026 edition is the module “Management of Climate and ESG Risks”, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radostin Vazov, an established expert in insurance, financial, and social risk management. The module expands the ESG management framework with a focus on risk assessment, prevention, and strategic management in the transition to a sustainable economy.
The training program includes 10 modules (80 study hours) covering key topics such as:

- Auditing – April 24, 2026, Milka Damyanova and Marina Bogdanova
- Climate and ESG Risk Management – May 15, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radostin Vazov
- Social Pillar of Sustainability – May 18, 2026, Zornitsa Rusinova
- ESG Accountability and Reporting Data Requirements – May 22, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova
- Climate Adaptation and Resilience – May 29, 2026, Apostol Dyankov
- Sustainable Finance – June 5, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcellin Yovogan
The program is particularly suitable for representatives of business, the financial sector, state and local administrations, regulatory authorities, consultants, NGOs, and professionals involved in implementing ESG policies and the requirements of the European Green Deal.
Upon successful completion of the training, participants receive a certificate. Additionally, upon completion of a six-module qualification course, participants may use 3 credits toward the master’s programs “Responsible and Sustainable Governance” and “Accounting and Sustainability” at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University.
