For the fourth consecutive year, the Career Center of the Faculty of Economics at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski "and the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce organised a Career Development Forum, the aim of which is to bring together young, motivated and well-educated people and employers looking for employees and trainees.
Thirty-five national and multinational companies placed their stands in the open foyer in front of the faculty building and the common areas on all floors. The format of the event allows students to ask their questions and to orient themselves in the labor market, and employers - to do on-site interviews.
A week before the Forum, the Career Center of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, supported by Sofia University’s “Career Growth” Sector, held an event in which students prepared their job and internship applications.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boryana Bogdanova from the Department of Statistics and Econometrics and head of the Business Center of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was glad to share that this year 18 students have volunteered and worked to organise the forum, each one of them doing excellent teamwork and completing their tasks perfectly. They prepared a video ad for the other students, which tells their success story and talks about the jobs they have found after participating in the career forum last year. Another team prepared the texts, posters and invitations, and another one was responsible for logistics. The same young people welcomed the business representatives and the students throughout the day.
Prof. Bogdanova emphasised the significance of the fact that this year the German-Bulgarian Industrial Chamber of Commerce is once again a partner of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administartion. It is with their support that such a large number of employer representatives were drawn to participate in the forum. She also noted the support and partnership of AIESEC, the largest youth organization, which had informed all its members about the event.
"This year we are more ambitious. We want to go beyond the Economics Faculty building and be useful to all young people who are keen on developing in the field of economics, finance, management and accounting. Students from all degree courses and from all universities are welcome, " added Prof. Bogdanova.
She also thanked Nadya Stoyanova, Head of the “Career Growth” Sector at Sofia University, as well as the colleagues from the career centers of the other faculties.
