Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev represented the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at the 10th International Business School Conference in Shanghai, China. This year’s event, held from October 23-25, 2024, focused on "AI and the Future of Business". Organized by the Antai College of Economics and Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the conference aimed to foster collaboration among business schools worldwide and design new programs and courses that emphasize AI and related technologies.

Key topics addressed at the event included methods to encourage students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential in an AI-driven world, as well as approaches to tackle ethical challenges related to this transformation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgiev delivered a lecture in Session C (Parallel): AI and Future Business Operations - How to Prepare Future Business Leaders. During his presentation, he introduced FEBA, its programs, partners, vision, and mission for cultivating a new generation of leaders, along with its model for fostering fruitful cooperation and knowledge exchange between students and faculty members at Sofia University. His speech also highlighted the accreditations and networks in which the Faculty has actively participated over recent years, including accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), membership in the Global Business School Network (GBSN), AACSB International, EFMD & EFMD Global, PRME, and others.

The 10th International Business School Conference in Shanghai brought together Deans from business schools worldwide to discuss effective strategies for the future of education and business. It is the largest dean-level conference for business schools in the Asia-Pacific region, both in terms of the number of participants and the high profile of speakers. The IBSSC is also recognized as one of the most influential and international business school conferences globally, traditionally drawing attendees from over 50 countries. This year’s conference included 160 of the world’s most prestigious business schools.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgiev was among the invited participants at the conference who had the opportunity to visit Huawei’s ultra-modern headquarters in Shanghai, which spans over 10.5 million square meters and showcases cutting-edge technological solutions and management practices.

At the close of the conference, Dr. Georgiev also participated in a seminar dedicated to AACSB accreditation standards, attended by representatives from business schools across various regions of the world.
