In an interview he gave at the end of his participation in Raiffeisen Bank International's Acceleration Program and a successfully completed pilot project at the Bank, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anton Gerunov from the Department of Economics and Branch Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration outlined the main challenges of the digital business strategies in the financial sector. He also listed the benefits for young and innovative companies of working with large and well-established financial institutions.

The main arguments were centred on the importance of the internationalisation of Bulgarian companies as well as of the existence of solid prerequisites for their competitiveness in key innovative sectors such as financial technologies, artificial intelligence and blockchain. In 2019, Raiffeisen Bank has once again launched its partnership program with innovative startups in the sphere of the ElevatorLab financial technologies. It makes possible the piloting and approbation of cutting-edge solutions for the digital transformation of financial and payment services within the Bank and Prof. Gerunov will assist this year's participants with advice on the development of their products and companies.
