Young scouts had the opportunity to try the board game “Water Stress – Every Drop Matters” at the Bulgarian Red Cross training base in the village of Lozen. The game was developed within the Transformation Laboratory for Gamification at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and was created with the aim of introducing young participants, in an accessible and engaging way, to the topics of water stress, sustainable water resource management, and the interconnections within ecosystems. Through game-based mechanisms, young people develop an understanding of complex ecological processes and the importance of responsible attitudes towards natural resources.

Particularly rewarding for the team is the opportunity to see how the educational tool they developed is being successfully used in a real-life environment and how it engages young participants with current environmental challenges.

The creation and development of the game involved the active participation of the team of the Transformation Laboratory for Gamification under the leadership of Teodor Daskalov, Doctoral Candidate and Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, whose contribution was essential to the implementation of the project.

The initiative is an example of the application of gamification as a tool for education, raising public awareness, and encouraging sustainable behaviour among young people.
