Chief Assist. Prof. Joanna Alexieva, PhD
Dr. Joanna Alexieva is a Chief Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Department of Statistics and Econometrics.
Her professional path is closely related to the modernization of Bulgarian education and public administration. As an expert at the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of e-Government, she participates in the management and coordination of national and international projects aimed at building IT infrastructure, integrating modern educational platforms and incorporating digital well-being in the educational system. She has participated in the preparation of “Guidelines for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education.” She has experience as a part-time lecturer and certified consultant in the implementation of quality management systems.
Joanna Alexieva has a PhD in "Automated Systems for Information Processing and Control" from the Technical University - Sofia. She holds a Master’s degree in Information and Control Technologies from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy – Sofia. She has completed a number of specialized international trainings at prestigious institutions, including the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) in Maastricht.
Dr. Alexieva is the author of over 30 scientific papers and reports at international conferences (including indexed in IEEE and Scopus/ACM as ICEGOV). Her research is focused on business processes modeling, decision-making in crisis, and the ethical aspects of using AI. She is a member of international scientific committees and a reviewer of international scientific journals in the fields of economics, business and education.
