In December 2018, he obtained a PhD degree in Economics from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” where he had been doctoral student at the Department of Economics of the same university since February 2014.

He previously lived in Hawaii, USA since August 2010 until September 2013. And in May 2012, he graduated with Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Hawaii Pacific University. Initially, he went to America with the goal of becoming a business consultant and eventually an entrepreneur. But while living in the USA, he witnessed the consequences of the 2008 World Financial and Economic Crisis, and he became very much involved in studying the causes of this great economic recession from which the USA was suffering very seriously. Then, his research interests deepened into studying economic theories, and soon he was faced the difficult choice – on the one hand to stay living in Hawaii or on the other hand to pursue an academic career. In the end, he chose to follow his academic interests and to dedicate his life on doing research.

In his early life up to his moving to America, first he studied until the 7th grade at the 141 Secondary School in Sofia since 1991 until 1998, then completed Second English High School “Thomas Jefferson” in Sofia in the period 1998 – 2003. And in the period 2003 – 2008, he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the International Higher Business School in Bulgaria. At the end of 2006, he worked as a trainee at the “Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations” department of Raiffeisen Bank, and in 2007 he worked as a bank employee at Raiffeisen Bank.

He was born in Sofia, where he has been living permanently since 1984 until now, excluding the period 2010 – 2013 when he lived permanently in Hawaii, USA. When he is not occupied with his teaching responsibilities, he prefers to spend his free time in the town of Gabrovo. However, he is seriously committed to his research work throughout the whole year. His research interests are in the fields of Economic Theory, Evolutionary Economics, Socioeconomics, and Institutional Economics. He also has a keen interest in studying the history of Western Philosophy, Psychology, Political Theory and Political Ideologies, and many Orthodox-Christian theological disciplines.
