The AISMark project - AI-Driven Sustainable Marketing: Transforming Higher Education for a Greener Digital Future
Description
The AISMark project (AI-Driven Sustainable Marketing: Transforming Higher Education for a Greener Digital Future) is implemented with the financial support of the Erasmus+ program (KA220-HED) for a period of 24 months (2025–2027). The main goal is the modernization of higher education by integrating technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI) into sustainable marketing concepts. Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", through the Faculty of Economics, participates as a partner in the consortium.
Functions and tasks of Sofia University
The University is the lead organization for Work Package 4 (WP4), which covers the development of an artificial intelligence-based learning hub (AI & Green Marketing Learning Hub). The platform will provide access to over 10 specialized AI tools for analysis and optimization of marketing processes, complemented by digital training modules. The university is coordinating the organization of a national dissemination event with a minimum of 50 participants, aimed at lecturers, students, business representatives and institutions. The scope of the entire project envisages specialized training for over 150 students and 30 lecturers. The acquired competencies will be certified through a European system of micro-credits (micro-credentials).
Research team and infrastructure
The project team from Sofia University is led by Prof. Dr.Sc. Anton Gerunov. The research group includes Assoc. Prof. Maria Trifonova and Ph.D. student Maya Todorova.
The activities are implemented based on the infrastructure and expertise of Net Zero Lab – a research laboratory at the Faculty of Economics, whose focus is on strategies for climate neutrality and sustainable transformations.
Expected impact
The results of AISMark will support the systematic transfer of knowledge between the academic sector and business. The developed methodological and technological framework is aimed at training personnel with profiled competencies in the field of data analysis, the ethical application of artificial intelligence in marketing and sustainable economic development.
