  • Among the former full-time faculty members and founders of the Program in Arabic Studies – later established as the Department of Arabic and Semitic Studies – were distinguished scholars such as Corresponding Member Prof. Strashimir Dimitrov (1930–2001), Prof. DSc Penka Samsareva, Prof. DSc Yordan Peev, and Prof. DSc Tzvetan Theofanov.
  • Other former full-time faculty members who contributed significantly to the development of the Department include Prof. DSc Sergey Ignatov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Viktor Todorov (1963–2024), Senior Assistant Prof. Dr. Diana Dimitrova, and Senior Assistant Prof. Dr. Hristina Chobanova.
