In the period 25-28 January 2026, the annual Forum of Sports Educators from Higher Education Institutions, organized by the Department of Sports of Sofia University, was held in Malyovitsa. The participating teachers enjoyed the beautiful nature, the perfect organization created by the hosts from the Department of Sports and the excellent conditions provided by the Alen Mak Hotel.
The participants competed in ski competitions - giant and parallel slalom and bridge-bellot and exchanged valuable experience and knowledge. The best performers received well-deserved awards. In the final comprehensive ranking, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" ranked 1st, Medical University - Plovdiv ranked 2nd and the guests from the Federation of Sports Educators of the Republic of North Macedonia ranked 3rd.
In addition to the competitions held, within the framework of the forum, Assoc. Anton Hidzhov, PhD gave a lecture on the topic "Dangers in the mountains and protection against them", and Senior Assoc. Prof. Tihomir Dimitrov, PhD presented a lecture on the topic "History of tourism activity in the Malyovitsa valley".
