On 24 March 2026, after a strong game and a 1-0 victory over NSA "Vasil Levski", the football team of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" became the champion of the city of Sofia. The goal was scored by Nikolay Tuparov from the Faculty of Law following a brilliant assist from Pavel Pavlov from the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences in the first half.
Professor Georgi Ignatov’s boys achieved 6 wins out of 6 matches as follows: 5-0 against AMVR, 2-0 against UACEG, 6-0 against NBU, 3-2 against UNWE, 3-0 against TU and 1-0 against NSA. Thus, in an indisputable manner, the students of our football team became City Champions and eagerly await their opponent in the quarter-finals.
The team has twice in a row been National University Champions in 2024 and 2025 and has realistic chances to compete for the top positions again this year!
