The football team of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" won its 3rd consecutive championship title following those in 2025 and 2024. The team also has another title from 2020. This season, the team led by Prof. Georgi Ignatov first became the city champion in an unequivocal manner, and then consecutively eliminated UNSS in the quarter-finals with 2:0 and Plovdiv University "Paisii Hilendarski" with 6:0. This led to the final match against the team of Veliko Tarnovo University "St. Cyril and St. Methodius", which, although difficult, was won 1:0.
This was the last match for an extremely strong generation of players including Georgi Kremenliev, Stefan Stefanov and Pavel Pavlov from FNOI, Nikola Nedelchev from LF, and Kristian Galabov from FF. The last match was also played by Georgi Bozhilov (FNOI) and Rumen Rangelov (LF), who will become professionals next season and will no longer have the right to play for the University. Other team members are: Yordan Dimitrov (MF), Kamen Kyuranov, David Zafirov and Eduard Iliev (FF), Nikolay Marinov, Nikolay Atanasov, Gabriel Angelov, Michael Rangelov, Hristo Marinov, Emil Ivanov, Hristo Baldzhiev, Denislav Kalchev and Stanimir Stoyanov (FNOI), Nikolay Tuparov, Vasil Tsankov, Georgi Rusinov, Alexander Stefanov, Stefan Daskalov and Atanas Todorov (UF), Stoyan Tenev and Anton Klisurski (FzF), Isa Mersim and Martin Boyanov (IF), Velimir Ivanov and Konstantin Todorov (GGF), Lazar Poryazov and Alexander Konstantinov (FJMǨ), Viktor Naydenov (FMI), Georgi Mladenov and Bozhidar Krivoshiev (FP), Boris Kostov (StF).
All these students will leave golden letters in the history of football at Sofia University!
