The chess players representing Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" became the overall champions of the National Student Universiade Sofia 2026.
Ivan Kochiev from the Faculty of Economics won the men's title, while Yavor Nikolov (FMI) finished third. In the women's category, Maria Petrova from the Faculty of Law won the bronze medal. The successful first place was also contributed to by Alexander Tashev (FL) and Rostislav Petkov (EF).
The team's coach, Hon. Prof. Radislav Atanasov, and the leader, Assoc. Dr. Teodor Georgiev, were extremely pleased with the performance of our students and hope for further successes in the future.
