INSAIT – the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology at Sofia University – announces the appointment of Dr. Yuxia Wang as a tenure-track faculty member. She will establish a new research group focused on Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
Dr. Wang received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the Beijing Institute of Technology, where she was awarded the National Scholarship three times. She earned her PhD from the University of Melbourne and later conducted postdoctoral research at MBZUAI.
Her work focuses on fundamental challenges in LLMs, including factual accuracy, safety, uncertainty estimation, and multimodality. She has authored over 70 papers accepted at leading international conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, EACL, COLING, and TACL.
In addition to her academic career, Dr. Wang co-founded a startup developing technologies for fact-checking and safety in LLMs.
