Project on developing "High-Tech Cluster Sofia" started

Sofia University Rector signed the contract for funding in the Ministry of Economics and Energy today. The project "Developing the competitiveness of the High-tech Cluster Sofia through establishing an experimental lab based on cutting-edge technologies and equipment for general clustering activities" is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The project is under the programme "Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian Economy” 2007-2013. The total funding of the project is BGN 3 810 811.00, and the period is 12 months.

The contract to start the first functioning cluster was signed in April, 2013. The union "High-Tech Cluster Sofia" unites Sofia University and ten Bulgarian companies working in the field of high technologies. One of the main goals of the union is sharing of resources, equipment, exchange of knowledge, experience and good practices for controlling quality of products and services, ensuring competitive environment for development of high technologies, as well as collaboration with academic and schientific institutions for increased quality in high technologies.
