Prof. Todor Deligeorgiev, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Sofia University was awarded a medal by Dyers’ Company for his research in the field of dyes at an official ceremony in Dyers’ Hall, London.
The award is given for the published work “A novel general method for fast and easy preparation of cationic, neutral dimethinehemicyanine and dimethine dyes by uncatalysed Knoevenagel condensation” с автори Тodor Deligeorgiev, Nikolay Gadjev, Stefka Kaloyanova, Nedyalko Lesev, Aleksey Vasilev and Alexi Alexiev, published by Coloration Technology 128(6), 417-424 (2012).
Prof. Todor Deligeorgiev was seated between the Prime Warden Mr. Clive Jourdain and the last year's Chair Dr. Michael Bartle of the Society of Dyers and Colourists.
Prof. Todor Deligeorgiev gave a short speech at the awarding, in which he noted the team contribution for the work. He acknowledged the support of the co-workers, the Department and the University. He also announced his great appreciation of this prestigious award.
