The Memorandum was signed during the 36th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting in the Embassy of Turkey in Brussels.
Prof. Pimpirev signed the Memorandum on behalf of the Bulgarian side, and Prof. Mehmet Ali Turkel, Director of the Turkish Antarctic Research Centre.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Belgium, H.E. Mr Mehmet Hakan Olcay and Ambassador Branimir Zaimov, Director, International and European Union Law Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
