Assist. Prof. Dimitar Grigorov presented today Sofia University Digital Library SUDigital. It is based on open source software for data servers, which was developed by CERN. Part of the resources are available freely, while others need registration to be obtained from the administration.
SUDigital Library was established under the subsidy by the Research Fund of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science.
One of the main goals set for the library is supporting a variety of functions. The main focus of the digital storage is preserving the so called cultural and historic heritage, mainly the items in possession of Sofia University. The Library will also support the e-learning in the humanity studies within the University by providing digital contents for the students.
