The Center for Postgraduate Professional and Continuing Education at the FJMC is a service unit from the structure of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The Center organizes and conducts short-term and long term postgraduate qualification courses in the field of journalism, media, public communication, public relations, advertising, and book publishing, for people with secondary education, professional Bachelors, students, and people who have high education. The Center organizes and conducts international conferences, seminars, symposiums, and workshops in the field of journalism, media, public communication, public relations, advertising, and book publishing.Part of the training are lecturers and experts from the FJMC and from other faculties and departments at SU “St. Kliment Ohridski”, specialists from Bulgaria and abroad, technical specialists. People, who graduated from the qualification courses and trainings, are awarded with certificates from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.

Thematic Content
The static photographic image is deeply integrated in the culture of contemporary technologic civilization. The course includes introduction to the classical and digital photographic processes and the basic fields of their application. It includes the following disciplines: Fundamentals of the Photographic Process; History of Photography; Composition in Photography; Documental Photography; Digital Photography; Press Photography; Advertising and Applied Photography; Scientific Photography; Artistic Photography; Photo Practice; Photo Laboratory.
Training
Acquisition of skills for the usage of professional photographic technology, accessories and lighting. Acquisition of fundamental knowledge for the structure and the content of the photo image and its role in contemporary communications.

The course is realized in two modules with a duration of 7 and 8 weeks with a break of 1 week between them. The courses are realized four times weekly from Monday to Thursday from 18:30 h with a duration of 3 studying hours. At the beginning of the course every student has an opportunity to choose one of the lecturers as a supervisor for their diploma paper. A term of one month is provided for preparing the diploma paper at the end of the course.

Expected Results
Creation of photo images and free work with the expressive means of photography in its different applications.
Requirements for the participants: Basic skills for work with a photo camera, high or secondary education.
Duration: 180 hours
Certificate: For Postgraduate qualification from SU “St. Kliment Ohridski”
Type of exam: Course works for the different disciplines and diploma paper.
Price: 830 BGN – paid on two equal payments – when enrolling and after the first module (in the middle of the course).
Minimal number of participants: 10

Photography is the most popular hobby in the world and simultaneously one of the main contemporary visual arts. The course includes a historical review of trends in the development of artistic photography and analysis of the place of media in contemporary art.
Training
Acquisition of knowledge of the language and means of expression of artistic photography in historical aspect and nowadays. Acquisition of skills for creation of artistic photographic product.
Expected results
Knowledge and skills in the field of artistic photography.
Requirements for the participants: Basic knowledge in the field of creation of a photo image, high or secondary education.
Duration: 30 hours – 2 hours during the weekend.
Certificate: for Postgraduate Qualification from SU “St. Kliment Ohridski”
