The education is by taking regular courses according to the state order

Admission conditions (application and enrolment)

The admission of Bulgarian students is through a competitive written examination in Journalism and an oral examination in Journalism. The classification of the candidate students is done on the ground of the marks from the entrance examinations and the marks from the school-leaving certificate.

Aims

Educational

The programme gives to the students a combination of basic training with a wide profile in social sciences, social communications, media and literature, specialized professional training by choice between “Editorial-Publishing Process” and “Media and Public Relations” and specific training in accordance with student’s interests.

Professional

The aims of the programme are to guarantee formation of solid professional qualities and skills, so that students graduated from “Book Publishing” to be able successfully to realize themselves as editors and experts in marketing, public relations and advertisement at the publishing houses and at other mass communication media; to run their own publishing house; to hold leading positions in management, marketing, advertisement and editorial departments of publishing houses and advertising agencies; to adapt to the quickly increasing requirements of electronic publishing industry.

Possibilities for realization and further development

Students graduated from the degree of education-qualification „Bachelor of Arts” in Book Publishing can continue their education in Master’s degree in the subjects at the Faculty.

Curriculum

The division of the courses by years and credit load that leads to the allocation of 60 credits by year, at the respective credit load of each course (compulsory, elective, optional and practice) from the year (term).

Technical equipment of the Programme

Training in „Book Publishing” requires the using of specialized teaching halls (a press and book publishing studio and an informatics and new media studio with 8 computers), a video show rooms, equipped with video installations and an overhead projector.
