The jubilee conference on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) – Just and SMART Transitions: New Deals, Markets and Governance, was held on 23 and 24 November 2020 entirely online. The first day of the scientific forum was marked by strong messages from famous people with international recognition. Media partners of the event were BNT and BNR.

The international scientific conference was opened by Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev - Dean of the Faculty of Economics. Assoc. Prof. Georgiev presented the main priorities in the work and development of FEBA, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and expanding partnerships with leading international research institutes. As part of the activities aimed at increasing the research capacity of FEBA, Assoc. Prof. Georgiev also presented the SCHOLARNET project, part of the implementation of the national program "European Science Networks".

The Rector of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”Prof. Anastas Gerdjikov, who welcomed the organizers and participants in the conference.

The transition to the academic debate was made by Prof. D.Sc. Georgi Chobanov, who was the first dean of the Faculty of Economics when it was restored in 1990.

In a special congratulatory address, Ms. Maria Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Sport, wished the Faculty of Economics to continue to be an attractive place for students seeking flawless academic preparation for their future careers.

During the day, 10 scientific panels were held in three parallel sessions. The academic debate focused on topics such as the green deal, innovation and transformation, populism and the economy, key factors for sustainable development, tax systems and other key topics in the field of economics and governance. Leading scientists and practitioners gave their analysis of the complex transformation processes that dictate the course of events today and determine the direction of development in the future.
