On 12 and 13 February 2020, “REMIT - Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency” - a collaborative certification course of the Center for Educational Services at Sofia University and the “Utilities” magazine was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Sofia University.

35 participants from energy companies – managers and experts, as well as students and PhD candidates - took part in it.

During the two days of the course the main topics of the lectures were:

 

  • Obligations of trade participants in wholesale energy products markets under Regulation 1227/2011. Market Abuse Ban: Investigation and Sanction
  • Models of market abuse, European practices and legal framework in Bulgaria
  • Regulation implementation and competition law
  • Regulation implementation and practical review by the business
  • Automated reporting mechanism through the IBEE
  • Analysis of the possibilities for market manipulation
  • Implementation of a reporting mechanism on REMIT
  • Types of deals and reporting specifics.
