The renewed composition of the CEA brings together scholars with distinguished international profiles affiliated with the European Central Bank, CERGE-EI, the University of Toronto, Deutsche Bundesbank, Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Bruegel, NHH Norwegian School of Economics, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Agroscope, the University of St. Gallen, Ratio Institute, Norges Bank, Tilburg University, the American University in Bulgaria, the University of National and World Economy, and Sofia University. Its members include researchers with publications in leading academic journals such as Econometrica, American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Finance, Nature, Science, and the Journal of Human Resources. This places the Faculty’s representatives in a strong and prestigious professional environment that combines academic excellence with expertise in public policy.
The Council for Economic Analyses is an advisory body tasked with examining major economic, macroeconomic, and social issues and proposing appropriate policy responses. It prepares independent analyses and policy opinions intended both to support public institutions in strategic decision-making and to inform the broader public on key economic issues.
For the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, the renewal of the CEA’s membership is an important recognition. The presence of three of its faculty members in this prestigious advisory body is a clear sign both of the Faculty’s academic strength and of its growing contribution to the national debate on key issues of economic policy and Bulgaria’s development.
