Last Saturday, April 29, the first-ever student-run under the name "UNIRUN" took place. The sports initiative was held in the capital's "Studentski" park and united students and amateurs around the charitable cause - to help children deprived of parental care.

The cause of the student organization "Business Club" was supported by more than 170 participants, and more than 130 people participated in the 6-kilometer run. The run started at 11:40, and the participants had to make 3 laps through the park’s outskirts.

The association says that with the collected funds, over BGN 600, from donations and entrance fees, they will purchase sports equipment for a family-type accommodation center for children with disabilities in Pernik, and for a center for children deprived of parental care "Konstanza Lyapcheva" in Dolna Banya. Additionally, they plan to organize a sports afternoon with the teenagers in the centers and introduce them to the benefits of physical activity.

"It was our pleasure to show that students can be physically active and help our society," says Daniel Petrov, President of the "Business Club" student organization.

At the end of the competition, all participants received participation certificates and gift materials. And for the finalists in both categories, students, and amateurs, there was also an official awarding of medals. The program of the event continued with eating and talking in the park.

The main sponsor of the student-run was KPMG Bulgaria, which joined with its own team in support of the cause. Among the event’s partners were TrackSport, RedBull, Smart Organic, Athletic, Rakuten Viber, and Bachkovo.
