On April 8th and 9th, 2024, a certification course was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration in cooperation with the Center for Educational Services at FEBA, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", and the magazine "Utilities": REMIT - Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency.
The event was organized in collaboration between the magazine "Utilities" and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. It included leading lecturers, as well as participants with rich experience and knowledge in the electricity sector.
Leading lecturers involved in the initiative included Velichka Marinova, an expert with experience in the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) and the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, Dr. Gergana Kulina-Radeva, Technical University - Sofia, Dilyana Ivanova, Head of the Legal Department at "National Company Industrial Zones", Irina Tagarinska-Ilcheva, Director of the Antitrust and Concentrations Directorate at CPC, and Krasimir Zhivachki, NEK EAD.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge in wholesale energy trading. The course covered platforms and mechanisms for reporting transactions, the legal framework, forms of market manipulation, as well as practical advice and specifics. The training involved 23 participants from energy companies - managers and experts.
With wishes for success and an invitation to apply for the Master's program "Energy Markets and Services", as well as for the new Master's program in English "Nuclear Technologies, Management, and Innovations", created jointly with the Faculty of Physics, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev closed the event. He presented certificates for successfully completing the training course to the participants.
