The article presents noteworthy data on entrepreneurship in Bulgaria. 11% of the adult Bulgarian citizens are entrepreneurs, defined as shareholders in companies or as freelancers. In 2019, about 1800 Bulgarians whose average age is 40 years (men – 39, women – 41 years) started a company for the first time. Bulgaria continues to be attractive to foreign investors and that is true not only regarding big multinational companies. 17% of the owners who started new companies in Bulgaria last year are foreign citizens.

The “Business Club” journal was started in 2015 but since the beginning of 2020 it has had a new owner, a new Editor in Chief – political scientist Yavor Siderov, and has been rebranded. The aim of the editorial team is to make the journal into the business periodical of the small and medium businesses. In the last number you can also read the interview with Mr. Ivaylo Slavov, founder of Bulpros and member of the managerial board of AIBEST, partner of the “Outsourcing Projects and Companies” master’s program at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
